Abstract:

In this paper the photocatalytic DEGRADATION of the anionic surfactant, linear alkylbenzene sulfonic acid (LABSA) was investigated using UV RADIATION in the presence of TiO2. Our findings demonstrate that various parameters exert their individual influence on the photocatalytic DEGRADATION of surfactant in wastewaters. The mentioned parameters have been categorized as follow: the initial pH of the solution to be degraded, the impacts of oxidizing agents on photocatalytic DEGRADATION, amount of TiO2, initial concentration of pollutant and irRADIATION time. The optimal DEGRADATION conditions of LABSA are: 200 mg/L TiO2, pH 6.0, 1mM K2S2O8 and concentration of LABSA 20 mg/L. Finally, about 96.14% of LABSA was removed by irRADIATION in 150 min.

Abstract:

RADIATION DEGRADATION of chitosan is one of the most important methods to prepare antibacterial oligochitosans. In this study, the effect of solvent on the reduction of DEGRADATION dose and enhancement of the antibacterial activity of chitosan against Pectobacterium Carotovorum (PC) has been considered.Gamma RADIATION DEGRADATION was applied to chitosan as solid and aqueous solution at dose range of 2-200 kGy. The changes of molecular weight with irRADIATION dose which were monitored by viscometric measurements showed that the solvent led to the reduction of DEGRADATION dose. Therefore, the molecular weight of solid chitosan was reduced from 400, 000 to 48, 000 after irRADIATION at 50 kGy, whereas the molec- ular weight of aqueous solution of chitosan reached 32, 000 after irRADIATION at 10 kGy. Antibacterial investigations showed that growth of PC in aqueous solution of chitosan irradiated at 10 kGy is equal to the growth of PC in solid chitosan irradiated at 50 kGy. FTIR spectra of the irradiated samples showed that the RADIATION DEGRADATION of chitosan in solid and aqueous solution must have occurred through the breakage of glycosidic bonds. The variations of glycosidic bond were in consistent with the viscometric results based on the effect of solvent on the reduction of DEGRADATION dose of chitosan.

Abstract:

The textile industry produces a significant amount of liquid effluent pollutants due to the vast amounts of water used in fabric processing. This has resulted in significant water pollution worldwide. The reduction of these dye compounds from industrial wastewater has been achieved using chemical, physical, and biological methods. However, these approaches are time-consuming, costly, and pose disposal problems. Currently, photocatalytic DEGRADATION by nanoparticles is attracting significant attention. In this regard, Activated carbon supported and unsupported SrO nanoparticles were synthesized by the wet chemical co-precipitation method. The nanoparticles were characterized by XRD, SEM, EDX, and FT-IR. The Strontium oxide (SrO) and Activated carbon-supported Strontium oxide (Ac/SrO) nanoparticles (NPs) were used as photocatalysts for the photoDEGRADATION of Congo red dye in an aqueous medium under UV irRADIATION. The unsupported SrO and AC/SrO NPs degraded about 93. 3% and 97. 6% of the dye, respectively, within 100 minutes of irRADIATION time. The maximum DEGRADATION of the dye was achieved at pH 4, 0. 06 g of catalyst dose, 15 ppm dye concentration, and a temperature of 45℃, . The data were best fitted with pseudofirst-order kinetics. The activity of the recovered catalyst was also examined.

Abstract:

The electrical behavior of neurons can be more complex in the presence of autapse. In the presence of an autaptic connection, the Izhikevich neuron model can show a variety of dynamic behaviors, such as chaotic behavior. This paper presents a novel, high speed and robust pseudo random number generator based on the autaptic Izhikevich neuron oscillator and its FPGA implementation. The autaptic Izhikevich neuron model is simulated and dynamically analyzed. Then, the proposed pseudo-random number generator is modeled and simulated using the Xilinx system generator platform, synthesized using Xilinx Synthesis Tool, and implemented on the XILINX SPARTAN-6 XC6SLX9 FPGA evaluation board. As a post processing operation, the XOR function is used to increase the randomness of the output bit sequences. The FPGA implementation results show that the implementation cost of the proposed pseudo-random number generator is lower than similar works, and the proposed generator achieves a maximum frequency of 63.2 MHz. The NIST test suite is used for testing the quality of the generated bit sequences. The NIST test results indicates the high quality of the generated random bit sequence.

Abstract:

Induction of gynogenesis requires the spermatozoa with degraded DNA with high motility, simultaneously. In this study, to obtain this capability in Siberian sturgeon spermatozoa, UV RADIATION with a dose of 4257 j/m2 was applied. First, the seminal fluid was separated from the spermatozoa using a centrifuge, and then 10% of the sperm was prepared and irradiated with UV RADIATION for 30, 60, 90, 120, and 150 seconds to obtain the best motility and percentage of DNA damage using the comet assay method in comparison with the control. Simultaneously, the fertilization ability of these sperms was tested in sterlet sturgeon eggs and the rate of hatched larvae. Based on the results, the best duration of irRADIATION of spermatozoa was determined to as 90 seconds. The DNA DEGRADATION rate was 32. 27± 1. 96 percent, the motility rate was 50% with forwarding movement, the fertilization rate was 52. 1± 0. 52 percent, and the egg hatching rate was 1. 1± 0. 11 percent. Therefore, genetically inactivated Siberian sturgeon sperm could be used in interspecific gynogenesis studies in sturgeon. Either to producing offspring of all females or to protect their extinction.
